Note the Oxpeckers (birds) on the hippos' backs. These would stay on until the very last second when the hippos went into the water.

This giraffe had apparently fallen into the river while drinking and drowned. It was now providing food for the crocodiles.

Greater Kudu are fairly common in Ruaha. Generally they wouldn't let us get this close, but this female was not skittish. Note the Red-billed Oxpecker on her back.

You see a lot of Impala at Ruaha and you sort of ignore them after a while. But some of the males are pretty nice.

The influence on the door design is from India. The spikes on the door were there to keep elephants from pushing the doors in and evolved into decorations.
